The Boundary Birds’ are a collective of musicians determined to bring good time music everywhere they go! Their live show is spirited and calm all at once; perfect for the just recently sophisticated audience.
Fans of Sheryl Crow, Lucinda Williams and The Pretenders will love singer-songwriter DeBlois Milledge, and folks who have a love of improvisation will be drawn to the impeccable grooves and solos of the band, which is always an eclectic mix of players who have played together in the San Diego music community for many years, at hundreds of gigs, and have produced five original albums. In an ever increasing global culture drawing from all possible sources of inspiration seems very rational, and the Boundary Birds have no trouble mixing them all with a laid back Americana vibe. These influences come pouring through the players as they express themselves musically for the sake of art. In fact they take their name, The Boundary Birds, from this quote by Charlie Parker:
“Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don’t live it, it won’t come out of your horn. They teach you there’s a boundary line to music. But, man, there’s no boundary line to art.” – Charlie Parker
