Meet The Boundary Birds.
The Boundary Birds are a collective of musicians spearheaded (and wobbly guided) by singer-songwriter DeBlois Milledge. Originally from Miami, Florida, DeBlois moved to San Diego after a 5 year stint in Central America where she developed her unique surfer/folk style in the early days of the Guanacaste music scene centered in Nosara, Costa Rica. In 2008 she arrived in San Diego and began making music with some of the most renowned musicians in the area like James East, Danny Campbell, Daryl Johnson, Jamie Kime, Rick Zahariades Lacy Younger and Mitch Manker.
The Boundary Birds have released 3 albums of original material, Night Painting, Gems, and The Boundary Birds. Drummer Danny Campbell, bassist James East and guitarist Billy Thompson toured extensively with DeBlois from 2010-2014. They were well received on both coasts from Key West to NYC and San Diego to San Fransisco. Primarily working in San Diego and staying a bit closer to home has been a wonderful creative time for the band. Their upcoming release Not That Mad has a lot to offer! Burning pop anthems and sweet country train paced stories abound.

DeBlois / de-bl-ois / Milledge
Born Marjorie DeBlois Milledge, DeBlois is an American singer songwriter whose influences include Randy Newman, Etta James, Kieth Richards and Carol King. Her distinctive voice is comfortable and loved. Her original compositions have been featured in a PBS documentary and judged as a finalist in the prestigious New Song Contest.
Danny is a San Diego California native who studied music at the Drummer’s Colective in NYC, and the Musicianʼs Institute in Los Angeles. He has been producing albums of original music for a Long Time. He has played with Randy Newman, Ivan Neville and many other great performers.
James East is the youngest of seven children. San Diego has been always considered home, but James has spent a lot of time on the road touring with Sergio Mendez, Lionel Richie, and Patti Labelle. His melodic sensibility and downright funky grooves earn him the respect of all. Other credits include Eric Clapton, David Foster, Clint Black, Celine Dion, Babyface, Elton John, as well as performances for King Bhumibol Adulya of Thailand and Christmas at the Vatican for Pope John Paul II.
Ricky Z is a gunslinging guitar player worth his weight in gold. Here’s some of the people he has played with: Lauryn Hill, Jessica Simpson, Josh Groban, Wayne Henderson, Gloria Estephan and Sophie B. Hawkins. His unique ability to arrange a song and bring it to a whole new level has been invaluable to The Boundary Birds.
